I live in Florida and it is great but I was so blessed to be able to spend New Year's in Puerto Rico this year and I can't wait to get back there. It was my first trip to Puerto Rico. It was suppose to be a surf trip but the waves weren't cooperating. I stayed in Aguada which is right between Rincon in Aguadilla. While the entire island of Puerto Rico is amazing, my favorite spot was a place called Crash Boat Beach. It was breathtaking, the water was crystal clear an completely flat. and I'm not sure about a boat but there sure was a cool concrete pier. Maybe it is called that because it looked like a sunken boat, or maybe there was a boat sunk out toward the end of the pier. Who really knows? Not me, I probably should've done some snorkeling but the only fish there anyways were the ones that you could see through the crystal clear water. There were tiny fish. I'm not sure what type they were but the locals there told me that there's hardly ever an thing in the water at that location. They said every once in a while a barracuda will swim through, but when that happens someone alerts everyone and everyone gets out of the water. Luckily we didn't see any barracudas. My mom forgot her wallet so we didn't get to snorkel or go on the banana boat but while I was jumping off the pier I met a local named Edgardo. He was there showing his family around, who were also from Florida. He was very nice and told me of some caves that were located just to the south of Crash Boat Beach. I introduced him to my mom and friends I was with, then a few of us went to check out the caves. Unfortunately there tides didn't agree with us getting to the caves but we tried anyway. We ended up getting cut up on the rocks and bounced around by the choppy ocean. When we finally made it to the caves, they were amazing! Well, for a couple minutes anyway. My mom was taking pictures of us and a huge wave came in the cave. She held the camera above her head like everyone told her to and the wave pushed passed but she was standing too close to the cave wall, so the wave bounced off the wall and went over her head knocking her down and completely destroying her camera. When we finally made it out of the cave we were a bloody mess but still laughing and amazed by the beauty and dangers of Puerto Rico. It was an adventure to remember and the start of my addiction to traveling! Stay tuned for more adventures!
